DX Engineering friend and fellow ham Josh Nass, KI6NAZ, of Ham Radio Crash Course took a close look at the AlexLoop HamPack—a portable, lightweight, and compact QRP magnetic loop antenna system for 40-10M that’s available exclusively in North America through DXEngineering.com.
Designed and refined by Alexandre Grimberg, PY1AHD, the system comes with 3-foot-diameter loop antenna; full-size backpack that accommodates any size QRP rig, loop antenna, and accessories; and AlexLoop tuner for quick tuning on any frequency between 7 and 30 MHz. KI6NAZ also tried out the AlexTune LED RF Tuning Indicator for transmitting magnetic loops (sold separately)—a device that clamps onto the loop’s PL-259 connector and shines brightest as you transmit in any carrier mode, making tuning of the AlexLoop a breeze.
