This week in our Word of the Day column, we’ll be focusing on what’s new in the 2019 DX Engineering Fall/Winter Catalog. Turn to Page 4, Featured New Products, and you’ll get an eyeful of the latest gear for your shack, including the DX Engineering Switch Pad 8 Transceiver Memory Keypad.
Designed for the ICOM IC-7610, IC-7850 and IC-7851, and Kenwood TS-890S and TS-990S transceivers, this external keypad lets you select voice and CW keying memories without the need to access the keyer menu on the transceiver’s main touch screen. When contesting, this keeps your transceiver’s main screen at full functionality while enabling selection of keyer memories without the need of a computer program. For Kenwood transceivers, in addition to memory keyer access, any of 99 different functions may be programmed to respond to one of the eight buttons, as described in the transceiver manuals.
