New Product Spotlight: LazTuner High-Power Manual Antenna Tuners

With the 25th anniversary edition of the DX Engineering Amateur Radio Products Catalog only a few months away, OnAllBands has been busy covering some of the manufacturers new to DXE, along with the latest station-enhancing DX Engineering branded gear.

New DX Engineering gear you’ll find in the catalog (as well as online at DXEngineering.com) includes the USB Isolator Inline Surge Protector (DXE-ISO-USB), a passive device which provides surge protection between two USB 2.0 devices, typically a transceiver and a computer; and the KD9SV Keying Relay, a high-speed switching interface which protects transceiver keying circuits from potential damage by amplifier relays. Except for AC switching, the DXE-SV-KR replaces the Ameritron ARB-704.

LazTuner Antenna Tuners

Today, we’re taking a look at high-power manual antenna tuners from the team at LazTuner.

The engineers at LazTuner have a simple message about their lineup of high-power  tuners: “Your antenna is going to like it.”

These tuners represent the pinnacle of quality manufacturing. They are made from top-grade components, including an oversized roller inductor with pro gear reduction and large and precise tuning knobs, vernier variable capacitors, 10mm copper RF straps, PTFE insulated wires, A2 stainless steel screws, porcelain and Bakelite supports, an oversized 4:1 balun with two cores, robust switches, anodized aluminum front plate, and more.

What Do Hams Say About LazTuner Antenna Tuners?

“Just received this tuner (LT4) a few days ago. The build quality is solid. Excellent design and finishes are what you would expect from a quality product. I have multiple wire antennas, and this piece tunes the antennas on all bands from 10-160M. In addition, the controls are extremely smooth and, after making a chart for my antennas, changing bands is extremely simple and consistent. When I go back to any of my antennas, the settings I put on my chart are right on the money each time. There is no doubt this tuner will outlive me.”

Antenna Tuners, Symmetrical

The 1.8-30 MHz TWIN-10K symmetrical antenna tuner supports 10,000W. Blue LED-lit forward and reflected power meters can be switched between 100W, 1,000W, and 10,000W. The 4kW model features air capacitors; the 10kW model is equipped with vacuum capacitors that deliver higher voltage tolerance. Both balanced models feature a silver copper tape roller system for reduced losses and maximum efficiency.
