Help the NCVEC Create New Question Material for the 2022-2026 Technician’s Exam

Is your brain jam-packed with enthusiast-level Ham know-how that you’ve just been dying to share? Put it to practical use by submitting ideas for new and modified question material for the 2022-2026 FCC Element 2 Technician Pool and help grow a new generation of knowledge-savvy Amateur Radio operators.

From now until June 30, the National Conference of Volunteer Examiner Coordinators (NCVEC) Question Pool Committee (QPC) will be accepting emailed input for new test questions, changes to current examination topics, and ways to modify and improve existing questions. The QPC is asking for suggestions that enhance public interest, understanding, and use of Amateur Radio, as well as material that focuses on STEM hands-on learning and education, new Ham technology, digital modes, station setup and operation, antennas, and emergency and non-emergency operation.

Here are the guidelines for submissions:

  • Questions should have no more than two 70-character lines (including spaces).
  • Each multiple choice question should include three possible distractors (incorrect options) and only one correct answer.
  • Distractors should be no more than 70-character lines long (shorter is appreciated).
  • Answer choices may be in any order, but the correct answer should be indicated by the letters A, B, C, or D at the beginning of the question.
  • Resource information that substantiates the correct answer should be included or, when applicable, the FCC Part 97 rule.

All question suggestions should be submitted to QPCinput@ncvec.org by June 30. This is a bulk forwarding email address and a confirmation email after submission will not be sent. All questions, comments, and suggestions will be considered and reviewed for use by the NCVEC QPC and, if selected, will appear in the new 2022-2026 exam.
