Dayton Hamvention, Four Days in May, and Contest University are done for another year, and by all accounts, hams from around the world were thrilled to once again meet in Ohio for these annual celebrations of the best that amateur radio has to offer.
If you missed Contest University 2022, click here to watch a portion of the event streamed live on YouTube on May 19. The video includes “Easy to Build Low Band Receiving Antennas for Small and Large Lots” (W3LPL); “How to Improve Your Transmitting Antennas for Solar Cycle 25” (W3LPL); “Preparing Your Station for Competition” (W3LPL); “Grounding, Bonding, and RF” (N0AX); “Teamwork and Multi-Operator Innovations” (N6WIN); and “Transceiver Performance for the HF Contest and DX Operator” (NC0B).
Thanks for the Eyeball QSOs!
The team at DX Engineering would like to thank the scores of hams who attended Contest University and stopped by our setups at Four Days in May and the Greene County Fairgrounds in Xenia to talk amateur radio, check out the latest gear, and discuss contests on the horizon, upcoming DXpeditions like 3Y0J Bouvet Island, ARRL Field Day (June 25-26), and awards programs such as Parks on the Air (POTA).
If you’re planning on operating from a park, summit, island, beach, lighthouse, or any location that requires easy-to-transport gear, watch the video below of DX Engineering’s Tim, K3LR, and Jeff, KB8ZWT, recapping Hamvention and discussing easy-to-deploy antennas like the Chameleon EMCOMM-II Portable HF model, which Jeff uses with great results while camping and on his POTA mini-DXpeditions.
