Citing public health concerns, DX Engineering announced the cancellation of its second annual DXE Hamfest, which was scheduled to be held at its headquarters near Akron, Ohio, on August 8.
This year’s event was planned in conjunction with the ARRL’s Ohio Section Convention. The logistics of safely managing the anticipated large crowds—evidenced by last year’s DXE Hamfest attendance—played a role in DX Engineering’s decision.
“Calling off the event came after much discussion about the uncertainty of where Ohio would be in terms of the COVID-19 outbreak in three months,” said Tim Duffy, K3LR, DX Engineering Chief Executive Officer. “Rather than having to cancel the event at the last minute and alter attendees’ plans, we decided it was in everyone’s best interest to act now. It was a difficult decision that we hope everyone will understand.”
DX Engineering looks forward to seeing everyone in August 2021. Check DX Engineering’s Facebook page and OnAllBands for details coming soon.
