Republic of Guatemala
DXers planning to put Guatemala in their log books in April and May will have to wait until the end of the year. Dwight, VE7BV—operating as TG9BBV—has rescheduled his DXpedition to Guatemala until November. As of March, Guatemala ranked as the 222nd most-wanted DXCC entity, according to Clublog.
Where do Hams in Guatemala go to for support? The Club de Radioaficionados de Guatemala (CRAG) is a non-profit group for Amateur Radio enthusiasts in the republic of 17.2 million—the most populous country in Central America.
While we wait for the chance to make Guatemala an ATNO or fill bands, here are some QSL cards from members of the DX Engineering team.
George, K3GP, customer/technical support specialist, pulled three Guatemala QSL cards (above) from his collection: March 2002, TG4/AC4LN from Palin (20M SSB); January 2005, TG9/N0AT from Antigua (40M RTTY); and November 2002, TG4/W0IZ from Puerto San Jose (12M CW).
